ACADEMY OVERVIEW
THE REBIRTH EMPOWERMENT ACADEMY...
...gathers 8th grade middle school & high school students, representing various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences at THE EVERGREEN STATE COLLEGE-TACOMA CAMPUS and offers an intense, powerful 10-week integrated learning venue. Students engage in 10 modules throughout the academy session. Each module offers integrated, collaborative curriculum, activities, and engagement to meet its learning objectives and fulfill the overall mission of the academy. Through academy engagement, student leaders have multiple venues to apply acquired skills and experiences. The Academy program experience extends to include each student leaders’ family and friends providing support and incentives that directly impact academy objectives and outputs. As student leaders gain new skills and strategies, they create and implement Community Investment Projects that will directly impact their lives, home, school, community/social settings – applying skills and transferring knowledge that has an immediate impact in our communities.
Academy modules, curriculum, and learning objectives emphasize prosocial awareness & behavior, critical reflection and thinking, expressive arts, interpersonal and team skills, and civic awareness and responsibility. The academy ignites students’ social responsibility and prepares and equips youth with the knowledge and skills needed for lifelong, intellect-based leadership and proactive community engagement. Students gain the skills to address and create transformative responses to emergent issues at home, in school, and in their communities, now and in the future.
The Rebirth Academy Modules & Curriculum can be effectively applied, in any setting, to individuals-both youth and adults, families, schools, organizations, and businesses.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
YOU ARE A LEADER. You have visions and ideas that can positively change your community and the world. Your Academy and it's leaders have prepared a safe place for you to express yourself, share your ideas, and create ways to positively impact the world now and in the future; in your personal life, peer groups, school, family, community, and in society. Your academy leaders offer skills, tools, guidance, and mentorship that will empower you to change the world.
WHO CAN REGISTER/APPLY
- ANY student in middle and high school can register/apply/attend the academy
- ANY student who is home schooled or attending alternative school
- ANY youth leader 8TH GRADE THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL, not attending or enrolled in school can register/apply/attend the academy
- ANY CULTURE, BACKGROUND, OR LIFE EXPERIENCE...EVERY STUDENT LEADER MATTERS!
