YOU ARE THE VISIONARY AND THE LEADER! The Rebirth Empowerment Academy is truly created and designed for YOU! The FOUNDER, who began his life-long commitment to youth & community engagement at the age of 18, (1988) envisioned a center-an “academy” where himself, powerful elders/leaders, community partners, and youth could come together and share/transfer everything they have and continue to learn -giving youth everything they need to be impactful, life-long leaders and be successful in life. You will be engaging with Elders and professionals ranging from filmmakers, photographers, artists to legendary elders who have shaped the ground we all walk on and spaces we sit in every day. Your academy is unlike any other youth leadership engagement venue, offering you a safe, inclusive learning & engagement environment where you can express yourself, share your thoughts and ideas, and create ways to positively impact the world. We strive to empower you, our student leaders, and to be empowered by YOU! You will be engaging with academy leaders offering decades of Cross/Inter-Generational & Cultural knowledge, life skills, and leadership skills. With Empathy, Integrity, Discipline, and Accountability at the core of our engagement, you will learn to embrace these core values to navigate your personal life, home life, school, and other social settings. You can expect to see positive changes in your life, in the lives of others, and your community. Embracing Empathy, Integrity, Discipline, and Accountability in everything you do…for life!In the home: invest in your family environment-model prosocial behavior, building strong, respectful, and supportive family relationships.In School: Show leadership in school, with increased academic achievement, modeling leadership & prosocial behavior to inspire peers and improve the overall learning environment.Social Settings – navigating life pressures and challenges, demonstrating prosocial behavior, avoiding conflict, other. ENGAGEMENTDuring this 8-week “first class” academy pilot, you will be engaging in 8 strategically designed leadership modules, starting with “personal & group (students) reflection” to “resiliency, courage, and life-long leadership”. Each module will achieve core objectives and uniquely integrates, Family Values, Health & Wellness, Financial Literacy, Prosocial Awareness & Behavior, Cross Generational respect (respect for elders), Environmental Awareness, and Civic Engagement.As you gain powerful leadership skills, you will create and implement “COMMUNITY INVESTMENT PROJECTS” that will directly impact your lives, at home, at school, and in the community.
